Nabajouban Darshan Of Puri Jagannath Temple Deities Tomorrow; Check The Timings

Puri: Preparations are on in full swing for Nabajouban darshan as the sibling deities of Jagannath temple in Puri are all set to reappear before the devotees in their rejuvenated youthful form, having spent 14 days in Anasara ghara (sick room), on Wednesday.

On the Nabajouban Darshan day which is also called Netra Utshab, devotees will be allowed to have darshan of the deities. While parmanik darshan (paid ticket holders) will be allowed from 8 am to 9 am, ‘Sahana mela’ or free darshan will be held from 9 am to 10.30 am, again 2 pm to 3 pm and 6 to 6.30 in the evening, 9 pm to 10.30 pm and from 11.30 pm to 12.30 am, , the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) informed on Tuesday.

The general darshan will be restricted from 10.30 am to 2 pm, from 3 pm to 6 pm, from 6.30 pm to 9 pm and 10.30 pm to 11.30 pm for conducting special rituals of deities at the temple.

The next day, Ubha Jatra will be organised and the devotees can have a glimpse of deities at the temple from 4 am to 6.30 am, from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm and from 3.30 pm to 5 pm on June 30. The general darshan will be restricted for devotees from 6.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

Devotees will not be allowed for darshan of deities after 5 pm on June 30 for preparation for the nine-day long annual Rath Yatra, which will begin on July 1. While Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb will perform ‘Chherapahanra’ atop the three chariots at 2.30 pm, devotees will veer the chariots for around 3 km along the Badadanda around 4 pm after completion of the rituals.

After staying at Gundicha Temple, the deities will begin their return journey on July 9. Suna Besha will be observed in front of the Simhadwar on July 10 on the auspicious occasion of Ekadasi. The next day, Adharpana (holy drink) will be offered to the deities. Late in the night on July 12, Niladri Bije will be held and the deities will be escorted to Ratnasimhasan in the sanctum sanctorum of Srimandir.
