Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik started his poll campaign from his home turf in Ganjam on Wednesday.
He addressed a public meeting in Kanishi of Ganjam district by slamming the Central government for not helping Odisha during cyclone Titli and the drought.
He also campaigned for his party’s Gopalpur Assembly seat candidate Pradip Panigrahi.
The Chief Minister also said the leaders from the Centre are coming to Odisha now for electoral gain only. He described them as ‘seasonal birds’, for coming to the state occasionally.
He questioned the Centre about the promise of one crore jobs in a year and 10 crore in five years. All the promises have been proved false, he added.
Besides, he questioned the Centre about the special category status, Women’s Reservation Bill and farmers’ insurance.
He spoke about the benefits of the various schemes implemented by the state government. About KALIA scheme, he said, “Around 40 lakh farmers have benefited so far and 20 lakh more have been added to the list in Odisha.”
Naveen did all the campaigning in a specially designed hi-tech bus.
