New Delhi: US President Donald Trump on Thursday claimed that India had offered Washington a zero tariffs trade deal. He made the statement during his ongoing three-day visit to Middle East. Trump has also told Apple CEO Tim Cook that he does not want him “building in India” and that “India can take care of themselves”.
At a business event in Doha, the US President said he had a “little problem” with Tim Cook. “I said to him, my friend, I am treating you very good. You are coming up with $500 billion, but now I hear you are building all over India. I don’t want you building in India. You can build in India, if you want to take care of India because India is one of the highest tariff nations in the world, so it is very hard to sell in India,” the US President said.
While speaking at an event with business leaders in Qatar, he said that the Indian government has “offered us a deal where basically they are willing to literally charge us no tariff,” he said, as quoted by Bloomberg. However, he did not offer any further details.
The central government is yet to respond on this statement. This comes when New Delhi is attempting to seek a trade deal with Washington within the 90-day pause on the reciprocal tariffs. Trump had imposed a 26% levy on India during his April 9 ‘Liberation Day’ announcements.
Trump had recently claimed trade was a big reason behind the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
Trump again cleared in front of the world that it was TRADE due to which both countries were ready for ceasefire
He said he threatened India with TRADE deal same with Pakistan which is why both government had to accept
So the Indian media was lying

“I said, come on, we’re going to do a lot of trade with you guys, let’s stop it,” Trump had said, referring to India and Pakistan, which were engaged in a conflict following India’s retaliation to the attack on tourists at Pahalgam in April.
“We’re negotiating with India right now, we’re going to be soon negotiating with Pakistan and we stopped a nuclear conflict. I think it could have been a bad nuclear war, millions of people could have been killed,” he said.
