Greater Noida: At least nine persons were killed after an AC bus caught fire in Greater Noida late on Wednesday.
According to reports, the bus was carrying 35 passengers from Noida to Mahoba. The incident took place in Dayanatpur village in Jewar on the Yamuna Expressway. The bus driver and conductor escaped from the spot.
The Greater Noida police claimed that a blast in the bus’ AC triggered the fire.

“A few passengers said that as the bus reached the Yamuna Expressway, they experienced a small burning-smell and asked the driver to stop,” Jewar Station House Officer (SHO) Ajay Kumar Singh told HT.
“Efforts are on to arrest the driver and the conductor,” the SHO said.
