Nissan Kicks Unveiled; To Compete With Hyundai Creta

Nissan unveiled the exterior design of the India-spec Kicks on Thursday. The interiors of the new SUV are still a secret.

The India-spec Kicks gets a redesigned front bumper with faux air inlets above the fog lights and an aluminium skid plate. The Kicks will have LED headlights and a ‘floating roof’ finished in orange color. The car wears 17-inch alloy wheels.

The India-spec Nissan Kicks measures 4,384mm in length, which is 89mm longer than the international model, 1,813mm in width and 1,656mm in height. It also has a longer wheelbase at 2,673mm.

It is based on the same platform as the Renault Captur, but is longer and taller.

The Kicks is expected to have an 8.0-inch ‘floating’ touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It is expected to share the same engines that other Renault-Nissan SUVs use. The 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor, and the 106hp and 1.5-litre petrol engine are expected to be used in the Kicks too. A CVT is also in the offering.

The Kicks will be positioned above the Nissan Terrano and is expected to be priced from Rs 9 lakh to 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete head-on with the Hyundai Creta. The Nissan Kicks is expected to be launched early next year.
