Rourkela: Despite the raging COVID-19 pandemic, recruiters are hiring candidates for hefty salary packages. National Institute of Technology-Rourkela (NIT-R) is a case in point. With its campus internship process almost over, the students have bagged high salary offers from various employers.
As many as three students of the institute received offers of Rs 45 lakh per annum this year. Also, nine other students have been offered Rs 43 lakh per annum.
According to NIT-R director Professor Animesh Biswas, the companies’ responses have been extraordinary during internship placement despite the COVID-19 gloom. He said that 211 students had received paid internship offers. The number of companies visiting the campus has also gone up to 255. The companies included Amazon, Barclays and Microsoft among others.
