Bhubaneswar: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) here on Tuesday issued notification for the second phase of polls in Odisha.
According to the notification, polling will be held for five Lok Sabha seats in Bargarh (General), Sundargarh (ST), Balangir (General), Kandhamal (General) and Aska (General) and 35 Assembly seats under these constituencies in the second phase on April 18.
As per the notification, filing of nominations will begin from March 19 and continue till March 26. The nominations will be verified on March 27 while candidates can withdraw their nominations on March 29. The candidates have been asked to file their nominations between 11am and 3pm, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Mentioned below are five Lok Sabha constituencies and 35 Assembly constituencies coming under them.
1. Bargarh (Lok Sabha) (General)
Assembly constituencies: Padampur (General), Bijepur (General), Bargarh (General), Attabira (SC), Bhatli (General), Brajarajnagar (General) and Jharsuguda (General).
2. Sundargarh (Lok Sabha) (ST)
Assembly constituencies: Talasara (ST), Sundargarh (ST), Biramitrapur (ST), Raghunathpalli (SC), Rourkela (General), Rajgangpur (ST) and Bonai (ST).
3. Balangir (Lok Sabha) (General)
Assembly constituencies: Biramaharajpur (SC), Sonepur (General), Loisingha (SC), Patnagarh (General), Balangir (General), Titlagarh (General) and Kantabanjhi (General).
4. Kandhamal (Lok Sabha) (General)
Assembly constituencies: Baliguda (ST), G. Udayagiri (ST), Phulbani (ST), Kantamal (General), Daspalla (SC), Boudh (General) and Bhanjanagar (General).
5. Aska (Lok Sabha) (General)
Assembly constituencies: Polasara (General), Kabisuryanagar (General), Khallikote (SC), Aska (General), Soroda (General), Sanakhemundi (General) and Hinjili (General).
