Now, Deve Gowda’s Son & Grandson Face Sexual Harassment Case Filed By House Help

Bengaluru: As if an alleged sex scandal and SIT probe wasn’t enough, Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna faces fresh charges.

The grandson of India’s former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Prajwal was on Sunday accused of sexual harassment by a woman who worked as a house help at his home, police said.

The 47-year-old woman also named Prajwal’s father HD Revanna as an accused.

Prajwal is a sitting MP who is seeking re-election from Hassan, while his father is the MLA from Holenarasipur, both in Karnataka.

The woman claimed in her complaint that Revanna and Prajwal used to sexually assault female workers in their home.

“After four months of joining, Revanna kept calling me to his room. There were six women workers in the house and everyone said that they were scared when Prajwal Revanna came home. The male workers in the house also alerted the women workers to be careful,” the complainant said.

“Whenever (HD) Revanna’s wife wasn’t there, he used to call the women to the store room and touch them while giving them fruits. He used to remove saree pins and sexually assault women,” she stated.

The woman further claimed that Prajwal tried to flirt with her daughter, who then blocked his number.

Based on her complaint, police have registered a case under IPC Sections 354A, 354D, 506, and 509.

The 33-year-old Prajwal was already in the eye of a storm after some explicit videos purportedly showing him went viral on social media.

The Karnataka government has set up a Special Investigation Team to probe the alleged sex scandal even as Prajwal claimed in a police complaint that the viral videos were morphed.
