Odia Mountaineer Sidharth Routray Displays World Cup Hockey Banner Atop Antarctica Peak

Bhubaneswar: Eminent Odia mountaineer Sidharth Routray added another feather to his cap when he scaled Mt Vinson summit.

Once he reached the highest peak of Antarctica, Sidharth fluttered the banner of the upcoming FIH World Cup 2023 along with the tricolour and flag of Sri Jagannath.

Odisha will be hosting the World Cup hockey for the second straight time – this time at two venues Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, from January 13 to 29.

Odisha Sports congratulated Sidharth and wished him more success.

Sidharth, who is based in Silicon Valley, USA, conquered Mt Everest earlier this year.

He has also successfully climbed the top 3 peaks of South America, North America and Africa.
