Odia Singer Humane Sagar Defends His Decision To Sing ‘Jhia Nuhen Tu Coronavirus’

Bhubaneswar: A day after being trolled on social media for his new song ‘Jhia Nuhen Tu Coronavirus’, popular Odia singer Humane Sagar on Wednesday issued a clarification defending his decision to render his voice to the song.

Through a video, Humane said that he never meant to demean women through his song. The singer further said that the song was recorded much before coronavirus became a global problem and he was also not aware of the gravity of the matter then.

The singer was criticised for making a mockery of a serious issue by comparing a teenage girl to the infectious COVID-19.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Pinky Pradhan has demanded strong action against the team behind this song.

Alleging that the song is an affront to women, social worker Sasmita Das had a lodged a complaint with the Mahila police station in Cuttack on Tuesday.
