[WATCH] ‘Hoshiyar, Corona Aaila Lo’ & Papu Pom Pom Packs His Bags For Mars

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor-comedian-singer Papu Pom Pom has come up with a music video, highlighting the source, the precautionary measures and changed social practices following the spread of the novel coronavirus to 164 countries.

The virus has so far claimed 7,873 lives and infected more than 194,000 people across the globe, according to the World Health Organization.

He begins by blaming the spread of the killer virus on China’s eating habit and how the world is suffering because of it, and then flips through different measures like washing hands regularly, wearing mask while stepping out of the house and social distancing to contain it.

And such is the fear for coronavirus that the actor wants to take his, lover, parents and family to Mars and settle down there.

He also points out at the sudden shunning of the ubiquitous handshake and it being replaced by the India’s traditional greeting, ‘Nasmaste’.

He also mentions about fear among people to consume non-vegetarian food, following which the price of a chicken has crashed to Rs 10.

Lyricist and music director of the song, ‘Corona Alila Loo’ is Pradumya Nayak and it has been produced by LN Series.

Earlier, Ollywood singer Humane Sagar had landed in trouble for his song ‘Jhia Nuhe Tu Coronavirus’, in which he had compared a teenage girl to the infectious COVID-19.

The netizens and the Odia film industry expressed their displeasure over the mockery of a serious issue like COVID-19, which is plaguing the world, in the song.

On Wednesday, Humane issued a clarification through a video stating that he never meant to demean women through his song. The singer further said that the song was recorded much before coronavirus became a global problem and he was also not aware of the gravity of the matter then.

While a police complaint has been lodged against him, BJP leader Pinky Pradhan has demanded strong action against the team behind this song.

So far, Odisha has reported one positive coronavirus case.
