Odisha ACF’s Death: Soumya Ranjan’s Uncle Reveals More Lurid Details Of Case

Balasore: More details emerged in the death of Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra on Monday after his uncle made a shocking allegation against the wife of the deceased.

The dead ACF’s uncle, Sitikanta Panda, told the media that his sister, Tulasi Mohapatra (the ACF’s mother), had told police that after the marriage, Bidyabharati Panda had taken Soumya Ranjan to Balangir where she had organised a party. But soon after arriving in Balangir town, she sent him back to his workplace in Paralakhemundi.

“Soon after leaving Balangir, Soumya Ranjan received a message from his wife on his mobile phone asking him for money. But he replied that he had no money with him. She then threatened to send him some photos. Minutes later, he received a photo in which his wife was seen embracing a man at the party. The photo sent by her is still in my nephew’s mobile phone,” he added.

Sitikanta said he has requested police to find out where and with whom Bidyabharati had stayed that night after the party.

Earlier in the day, the deceased’s father, Abhiram Mohapatra, met the Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay at his office in Cuttack and requested him to personally intervene in the case.

The father also requested the DGP to conduct lie detection tests on Bidyabharati, cook Manmath Kumbha and DFO Sangram Keshari Behera.

He also urged the DGP to d bring the woman IIC of Gajapati, Mamata Panda (a relative of Bidyabharati), under the purview of the investigation for her dubious role in this case.
