Bhubaneswar: More than 17 lakh women have been enrolled as new beneficiaries in Odisha government’s Subhadra Yojana after an extensive field verification, the state Assembly was informed on Saturday.

This information was shared by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida while answering a question in the House. Following a thorough field verification and scrutiny of household records, 17,83,251 women were officially added to the Subhadra Yojana scheme, while 9,36,283 applications were rejected, she said.

The verification exercise involved cross-checking of households to ensure accuracy and prevent duplication, said Parida, who holds Women and Child Development portfolio.

Altogether 97,51,479 women have already received financial assistance under the scheme, encompassing all three instalment, she said.

As many as 1,03,89,801 women have received only the first instalment, while 1,01,92,724 beneficiaries have received the second instalment, the Deputy CM said.

Earlier, on November 1, 2025, the Odisha government reopened applications for new Subhadra Yojana beneficiaries. Women turning 21 between now and April 2026, or those who missed earlier registration windows, can submit applications through the official Subhadra portal. The new beneficiaries will receive financial assistance for two instalments together on March 8, 2026.
