Odisha Alert: Thunderstorms, Strong Wind Forecast Till Feb 10
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow warning (thundershowers, lightning and strong wind) for some places in Odisha till February 10 (Monday).
The morning weather bulletin said that thunderstorm with lightning will occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada, Sonepur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam and Rayagada on Thursday, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Sonepur and Boudh on Friday.
It also predicted that thunderstorms with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph will occur for two days at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsingpur, Khurdha, Puri and Nayagarh on Saturday and Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal and Kalahandi on Sunday.
Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall will occur over the district of Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur on Monday.
The bulletin further said that most parts of coastal, north and interior Odisha will witness dense for three days from February 11.
Meanwhile, rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours was highest in Parakhemundi at 44.4 mm followed by Cuttack (14.2), Daringibadi (10), Puri (6.1), Chandbali (5.8), Gopalpur (5.2) and Bhubaneswar (2.2).
