Bhubaneswar: The BJP Krushak Morcha has threatened to launch statewide agitation, if the state government does not order CBI probe into Rs 200-crore scam involving Agriculture minister and department officials.
Speaking to the media persons, here on Tuesday, state president of BJP Krushak Morcha Pradip Purohit said contractor Abinash Das has been awarded contracts for different agriculture schemes of the Centre. He has embezzled more than Rs 200 crore from the Central funds by influencing the Agriculture minister and department officials, he added.
Demanding the state government to clarify the role of the contractor who has been awarded all the contracts of the department in procurement of farm materials like fodder, pesticide, fertiliser, organic manure and pump sets, Purohit held Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo and the department’s secretary responsible for the scam.
Demanding CBI probe into the scam, he said the BJP Krushak Morcha would resort to statewide agitation, if the government fails to do so.
