Odisha Cabinet Okays 7th Pay Panel Salary For Varsity, College Teachers

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Saturday approved 12 proposals at a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here.

Mentioned here are the proposals approved by the State Cabinet:

1. Temporary enhancement of corpus of the Odisha Contingency Fund (OCF) from Rs 400 crore to Rs 1600 crore for implementation of the newly-launched Krushak  Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme. Since the State Assembly is not in session and to meet the urgent and emergent need, the corpus of the fund is to be enhanced through an ordinance amending the Odisha Contingency Fund Act, 1967 (Odisha Act 18 of 1967).

2. Amendment of provisions of Clause-4(6) of the Odisha Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2016 to streamline bi-monthly allocation of food grains.

3.  Framing of Odisha Civil Supplies (Method of Recruitment and Condition of Services of Inspector of Supplies) Amendment Rules, 2018.

4. Registration of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in agriculture and allied sectors under the Odisha Farmer Producer Oganisations Policy to address many challenges of the agriculture sector to provide  end-to-end services to its members, covering all aspects of cultivation i.e., financial, input supply, technology transfer, procurement and packaging, marketing, insurance and networking services.

5. Introduction of the Odisha Subordinate Forest Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Forest Guards) Rules, 2018 by repealing the Odisha Subordinate Forest Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Forest Guards) Rules, 1998 to attract the meritorious and physically fit candidates for engagement as Forest Guards.

6. Revision of pay scales of teachers in universities and colleges who are in receipt of UGC scale as per the report of the Fitment Committee. There will be an approximate additional expenditure of Rs 136 crore per annum. About 5203 teachers working in different state universities, government and non-government aided colleges will benefit.

7.  Alienation of government land measuring 2.045 acres in Tangi Mouza under Tangi Tehasil in favour of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, on a token premium of Rs 1 for construction of developing training and residential facilities for students of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

8.  Appointment of Dr (Ms) Namita Mohanty, retired professor in Psychology, Utkal University, Vani Vihar and Purna Chandra Pathy, retired special secretary of the Odisha government as members in Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

9. Proposal for grant of permission to Tourism Department for temporary sub-lease of government land measuring 0.600 acres in Bankimuhan Mouza in Puri town under Puri Tehsil in favour of well-known sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik for setting up of a Sand Art Park.
