Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday issued an order with ‘Guidelines for Surveillance, Containment and Caution‘, which will be effective from December 1 and remain in force till the end of the month.
The Centre has allowed States and Union Territories to impose local restrictions such as night curfew, based on their assessment of the situation to contain the spread of COVID-19.
However, they are barred from announcing lockdown (state/district/sub-division/city level), outside the containment zones, without prior consultation with the central government.
The States and UTs have been directed to enforce social distancing in offices. It has suggested staggered office timings and other suitable measures to reduce the number of employees attending office at the same time, thereby ensuring social distancing, in cities where weekly case positivity rate is in more than 10 per cent.
There will be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods, including those for cross land-border trade under Treaties with neighbouring countries. No separate permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for such movements, the order added.
