Deogarh: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 15 developmental projects worth Rs 205 crore in Deogarh district on Tuesday.
While eleven of these projects are in healthcare sector, four are aimed at strengthening infrastructure in the field of education in the district, official sources said.
A newly constructed 300-bed hospital was among the projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister during his visit to the district.
Majhi also announced a financial assistance package worth Rs 41.17 crore for kendu leaf pluckers and binders across the state. As part of this package, each kendu leaf plucker will receive Rs 160 for slippers, Rs 200 for storage cloth, and Rs 100 for hats of pluckers and seasonal staff.
This apart, each binder will get Rs 700 for mosquito nets and blankets. The package is set to benefit around nine lakh kendu leaf pluckers, binders, and seasonal staff.
Stressing that the government aims to ensure inclusive development, the Chief Minister said Deogarh district has all the potential for development and the state administration is committed to utilising these resources effectively and ensuring that the district is part of overall progress of Odisha.
The government is focused on balanced development across all 30 districts and prioritising essential services for people at the grassroots level, the CM added.
