This apart, the government has pledged Rs 10,000 crore for industrial development in the district, promising new employment opportunities and economic prosperity.

During his visit to the district, the CM inaugurated a total of 133 projects worth over Rs 328 crore and laid the foundation stones for 52 projects to be implemented with an expenditure of Rs 91 crore, an official statement said.

Attending an event at the Bisoi Mini Stadium, Majhi said that all these projects have added a new chapter in the development journey of Mayurbhanj district. These projects will create a new era of development in Rairangpur, Kusumi, Bijatsala, Bahalda, Jamda, and Tiring areas, he said.

These projects are for providing rural drinking water, mega piped water supply, school infrastructure improvement, bank facilities, health centres, road construction projects, tribal culture buildings and other government infrastructure.

The Chief Minister emphasised the government’s commitment to fulfilling public aspirations, highlighting achievements such as opening the four gates of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, introducing the Subhadra scheme for women, and raising the minimum support price for paddy to Rs 3,100. He reiterated the administration’s focus on empowering rural communities, improving infrastructure, and fostering economic growth.

Majhi announced that the government has formulated 36 key programmes to achieve various goals by the year 2036, a plan referred to as ‘36 for 36.’

“With your cooperation, we aim to build a prosperous Odisha, harnessing the efforts of 4.5 crore people in the state. This will be the Odisha of our dreams. Our vision for a prosperous Odisha includes excelling in all areas, such as education, health, industry, and infrastructure. Additionally, we are committed to ensuring that all basic amenities are accessible to our brothers and sisters at the lowest rungs of society,” he said.

The Chief Minister emphasised that clean water, improved healthcare, quality electricity, and better transportation facilities will be available to everyone.

During the event, the Chief Minister also distributed death assistance to local beneficiaries. Funds were provided for marriage incentives to the daughters of labourers, and financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh was given to women in self-help groups (SHGs).
