Rourkela: Panchayat Samiti College, a government-aided junior college in Balishankara block of Odisha’s Sundargarh district, has introduced strict dress and grooming rules to foster discipline and enhance the academic atmosphere.
The poster also features contrasting images: one with young men sporting trendy hairstyles like spiky fades and man buns, marked with a red ‘X’, and another of smiling students in uniform with neatly combed hair and ties, marked with a green checkmark.
According to sources, the college administration has roped in guardians, who are more than happy about it, for effective enforcement. Most students have also welcomed the move.
However, the bold stance by the college has sparked debate as some students see it as infringing on personal freedom. “We treat our students like our own children. Just as no parent wants their child to go astray, we are guiding them toward success through discipline,” Sahu asserted.
