Odisha Cop In Vigilance Net For Taking Bribe
Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday caught a sub-inspector of police red-handed while taking bribe in Balangir district.
According to a release, one Sanjib Kumar Pradhan of Gudighata village in Balangir police had complained to officers of Vigilance Sambalpur Division that Saroj Ranjan Rath, the sub-inspector (SI) of Muribahal police station was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 to help in the investigation of a case registered against the complainant’s younger brother Manas Pradhan.
The Vigilance officers laid a trap and nabbed the SI accepting the bribe money.
The SI’s office chamber, his residential building situated at Shaktinagar Pada in Bhawanipatna of Kalahandi district and police barrack on the police station campus are being searched.
