Odisha COVID-19 Tally Breaches 9000 With 469 New Cases; 94 From Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha touched 9070 on Sunday with 469 fresh cases being reported from 20 districts in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 317 have been detected in quarantine centres while 152 are local contact cases.

According to I & PR department, Ganjam district reported the highest 116 followed by Cuttack (94), Sundargarh (66), Khurda (27), 25 each of Jajpur and Keonjhar, Nayagarh (24), Bhadrak (16), Sambalpur (13), Gajapati (12), Angul (11), eight each in Balasore and Puri, Mayurbhanj (6), Kendrapada (5), Balangir (3), two each in Kalahandi and Nabarangpur, and one each in Malkangiri and Kandhamal.

Besides, four NDRF jawan, who had returned to the state after Amphan duty in West Bengal, was also found infected.

With 34 deaths and 5934 recoveries, Odisha now has 3090 active cases.
