Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Medical Service Association (OMSA) on Sunday threatened mass resignation if the state government fails to fulfil its seven-point demands, including implementation of DACP, within a month.
After a general body meeting held in Bhubaneswar, the association of doctors also threatened to boycott work to press for their demands.
OMSA members have sought immediate steps to implement of Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) in the state. The association claimed that at least 18 states in the country have already implemented the DACP for doctors serving in government hospitals.
This apart, the association wants cadre reconstitution, which has not been done in Odisha for last seven years, incentives for postgraduation and other benefits to the dentists.
The association also urged the government to take into consideration the contractual period of the ad-hoc doctors while implementing the DACP.
The OMSA members sought steps to ensure transparency while transferring doctors, health insurance. The doctors also sought changes enabling the Director of Health Services to issue their appraisal reports.
