Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday apprehended Superintendent Of Excise, Dhenkanal, Krishna Nayak, after she was found in possession of suspected ill-gotten cash worth Rs 3 lakh.
She was intercepted on Deulasahi Road in Dhenkanal, following a tip off, while proceeding in a vehicle and was unable to give satisfactory explanation with regard to possession of such huge cash, a Vigilance release said.
While Nayak is being questioned regarding the source of the money, simultaneous searches are on at 5 locations linked to her to ascertain whether she has accumulated assets disproportionate to her known sources of income, it added.
