Odisha Govt Asks Centre To Blacklist Two British Nationals

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has asked the Centre to blacklist two British nationals for allegedly violating visa rules.

They have been identified as Haywood Amy Elizabeth and Toon Elizabeth.
An inquiry conducted by the Odisha Intelligence Bureau found that the British nationals, who were visiting India on E-Tourist visa,  got involved in NGO activities.
The visa is granted to a foreigner who visits India for recreation, sightseeing and meeting friends or relatives or attending yoga programme for a short period of time. However, these two violated the visa manual by indulging in NGO activities, an inquiry report submitted by a DSP-ranked officer of the Rayagada district Intelligence Bureau said.
According to sources, the two British nationals had inspected the medical charity work of New Hope Rural Leprosy Trust at Sukata under Muniguda police limits in Rayagada district.
There exists a restriction on movement of foreigners in tribal areas of the state since the abduction of two Italian trekkers in 2012.
