Bhubaneswar: More than 1.01 crore women have been identified as beneficiaries for the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana scheduled to be disbursed by the Odisha government on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima on August 28.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida chaired a high-level preparatory meeting in this regard on Friday to assess the progress of administrative and technical preparations to ensure the smooth transfer of funds.
The meeting was informed that a total of 1,15,75,633 applications have been registered under the Subhadra scheme so far. Of these, 3,17,966 fresh applications were received during the 2026-27 financial year.
After verification and eligibility assessment, 1,02,04,396 women were initially identified as potential beneficiaries for the fifth instalment. However, after district administrations confirmed the deaths of 5,277 beneficiaries and removed their names from the list, the final number of beneficiaries was revised to 1,01,99,119, officials said.
The meeting also reviewed the status of key preparatory activities, including Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) activation, biometric e-KYC, field enquiries, NPCI account mapping, payment file preparation, and coordination with banks.
Officials were directed to expedite the completion of 82,036 pending DBT activations, 28,621 biometric e-KYC cases, and 3,53,059 field enquiry-related cases before the next instalment is released.
The overall implementation of the Subhadra scheme was also reviewed by the Deputy CM. The meeting was informed that over Rs 12,064.86 crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of more than one crore women through four instalments under the scheme.
The meeting was informed that out of the 3,57,953 grievances received so far, 2,68,396 have been resolved. In addition, 24,92,913 applications were sent for field verification, of which verification has been completed in 21,93,406 cases.
