Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has launched a special initiative to provide free coaching for aspirants for the Civil Services Examination being conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Applications for the 11-month programme, launched by the Higher Education Department, will be accepted from June 3 to 12. Comprehensive coaching would be provided for both the Preliminary and Mains exams of the UPSC.
Official sources said that altogether 500 eligible candidates, who must be domiciled in Odisha, will be selected to receive 11 months of free coaching. The curriculum will cover General Studies as well as selected Optional subjects.
The initiative aims to nurture and empower young talent across Odisha by providing quality academic support and removing financial barriers that often hinder participation in highly competitive national examinations.
Applications are to be submitted online through the official Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal at www.samsodisha.gov.in. Candidates who have already applied under a previous notification for the 2025–26 session are not required to reapply. However, they must indicate their preference for residential or non-residential coaching.
The State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha, will oversee the selection process and conduct the entrance examination to identify the final list of candidates.
Candidates are advised to visit the official websites of the Higher Education Department (www.dhe.odisha.gov.in) and SAMS regularly for updates, detailed guidelines, and further instructions.
