Odisha Govt Seeks Tender For Expansion Of Rangeilunda Airport In Ganjam Dist For 2nd Time
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has invited tender for expansion of Rangeilunda airport in Ganjam district for second time.
According to official sources, the Works department had cancelled the tender process for the airport expansion work as there was only one respondent last time. The process was delayed further due to a dispute over district mineral fund (DMF) and EMF royalty.
The department again notified seeking tenders for the expansion works worth Rs 30 crore on Monday to convert the airport to B-2 category. The last date for filing the tender has been fixed on June 7.
It may be noted that the airport has been operational since March this year. The stated government had granted permission for continuation of flight service between Bhubaneswar and Rangeilunda from April 2 to April 30. Ahmedabad-based IndiaOne Air has been operating its flights between the two airports.
