Bhubaneswar: As the mercury rises, schools in several districts in Odisha have been closed for a few days.
Looking ahead, the state government has come up with a plan to ensure uninterrupted learning during the summer vacation.
The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) on Tuesday announced the launch of a Summer Learning Programme for students from pre-primary (Shishu Vatika) up to Class VIII.
Through the initiative, practice assignments and audiovisual learning content will be provided digitally through WhatsApp.
OSEPA has written to the District Education Officers (DEOs), directing them to ensure creation of WhatsApp groups of students’ parents by April 25.
Subject-specific assignment sheets will be sent to students via their parents’ WhatsApp groups. The mix of practice work and audiovisual content is expected to keep students engaged and interested, thereby making productive use of their summer holidays.
A detailed timetable for the Summer Learning Programme has been released, with the schedule for different classes and subjects.
