Cuttack: Police launched a massive checking in Cuttack city to enforce the 15-day lockdown that began in Odisha on Wednesday.
Also, to avoid rush in vegetable shops, which are allowed to be open from 6 am to 12 noon, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has shifted the Chhatra Bazar vegetable shopkeepers to Chauliaganj playground and Badambadi-Linkroad areas.
Meanwhile, police instructed people not to venture out of their houses except for necessary work.
Police have also set up 33 check posts in important areas of the city to enforce the lockdown. One SI and five police personnel are deployed at each check post.
Besides, seven SPs, 22 inspectors, 86 SIs and ASIs, and 18 platoons of police force have been deployed across the city. Police are also carrying out patrolling on 50 four wheelers and 40 two wheelers.
The police officers and personnel will carry out their duties in two shifts —from 5 am to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 11 pm.
