Odisha Mines Auction: Bidding For Ganua Iron Ore Continues, Jilling Next
New Delhi: The auction for Ganua iron ore block in Sundargarh, which began on Tuesday, spilled over to Wednesday. The bidding was continuing at 106.30 per cent till reports last came in.
Next on the line for auction is Jilling-Langalota iron ore block in Odisha’s Keonjhar district. Among the nine technically qualified bidders, Adani Enterprises, Serajuddin & Co, JSW Steel, Rungta’s Feegrade and ESSEL Mining Industries have emerged as the top contenders.
As many as 24 companies were reportedly eying to grab the Jilling-Langalota block, whose lease expires in March this year. It is currently with ESSEL.
The block has an ore reserve of 72.84 MT.
On Tuesday, Serajuddin and Co retained Balda iron ore block during the auction that went past midnight (2.41 am).
JSW Steel has already bagged two mines — Nuagaon and Narayanposhi — with a total reserve of 980 million tonnes, ArcelorMittal India Pvt Ltd won Thakurani iron ore block notified for auction in Odisha on Monday.
