Odisha Pavilion At IITF Gives Global Reach To Local Products

New Delhi: The Odisha Pavilion at the ongoing India International Trade Fair in New Delhi has become a valuable platform for promoting the products churned out by rural communities.

Visiting the pavilion on Sunday, Odisha’s Rural Development and I & PR Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh said, “in tune with this year’s theme – local to global and vocal for local – we have given focus on fully locally made products which needs global attention”.

Stating that 2023 will be celebrated as Millet Year, Singh said the Odisha government has already started a number of activities to promote millet-based food. The state has come up with various millet products including snacks and biscuits.

Similarly, Odisha has come up with its state sponsored handloom sarees with diligently crafted fabrics which provide livelihood to countless rural artisans. During the visit, Singh reviewed the footfalls at the pavilion and took stock of the sale status of products.

The pavilion also witnessed visit of Principal Secretary of Agriculture, Dr Arvind Padhee who interacted with participants of the pavilion and hailed their initiatives while taking part in one of India’s largest international fairs.

It may be mentioned here that the IITF which is being organised every year to promote trade and business is witnessed by thousands of participants from India and abroad. Odisha Pavilion is crafted with terracotta theme having temple textured cultural look.
