Odisha Plus II Admission Cutoff Mark Out, Ravenshaw Tops List

Bhubaneswar: The first cutoff list for admission of students to various streams in Plus II colleges across Odisha for the 2023-24 academic session was released on Thursday.

The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education declared the first merit list. The merit list is available on the official website of Students Academic Management Sytem (SAMS), Odisha at www.samsodisha.gov.in.

Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School in Cuttack turned out to be the first choice of the students in all the three streams with cut off for science stream closing at 91.67%, humanities at 80%, and commerce at 79.20%.

In science stream, FM College in Balasore is second in the list with 90 per cent cutoff mark followed by BJB College, Bhubaneswar with 89 per cent. SSVM college in Nilakantha Nagar is fourth in the list with 89% and UN College in Soro with 86.83%  is on the fifth spot.

In the arts stream, Rourkela Government College is behind Raveshaw with 79% cutoff mark. It is followed by DAV College in Titlagarh with 78.67% and FM College Balasore with 78%.

In Commerce, Rourkela Government College is second in the list with 77.33% cutoff mark, followed by BJB College, Bhubaneswar with 77.33% and JKBK College, Cuttack with 72.20%. Shailabala Women’s College in Cuttack is on the fifth spot with the cut off mark of 72.17%.

Applications were invited for the admission from May 29 to June 30, 2023. A total of 4,12,368 students have been considered in the first merit list.

Qualified candidates in the first merit list can take admission between July 7 to 13, 2023. The second merit list will be published on July 19, 2023 and admission will be held from July 20 to 22, 2023, authorities said.

A total of 4,72,179 students had applied admissions into 2,158 colleges in the state and  4,67,358 of them fulfilled the requisite procedures and paid the fees for admission.

During the spot selection on July 29, 2023, students will have the liberty to choose any college of their choice irrespective of whether they had earlier opted for it or not, the officials added.

The cut off marks for the current academic year is 3% higher than the last year due to more number of students passing the matriculation examination this year. The academic session will commence on 01 August 2023.
