Bhubaneswar: Following allegations by two political leaders on ad hoc change of centres for the annual Plus II examinations, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Sunday decided to change 20 examination centres.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Examination Managing Committee of CHSE.
Later, the CHSE Controller of Examinations, Bijay Kumar Sahu, told the media that a new list of examination centres will be prepared by changing 20 centres for the Plus II exams scheduled to begin on March 7.
Earlier, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja and the BJD MLA Kishore Mohanty, who are also members of the Examination Managing Committee, had alleged that some tainted CHSE officials had replaced the previous list of examination centres with a new list by adding some colleges where malpractices were reported last year.
Acting on their allegation, the Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangh had demanded a Vigilance probe into the matter.
Besides, it had also requested the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) to urgently intervene in the matter.
