Odisha Rights Panel Orders Stay On Matric Offline Improvement Exam

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Monday directed the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) to put on hold the Matric offline improvement examination, scheduled on July 30, until further orders.

The Commission stated that the Board, which could announce the results of over lakhs of students without conducting the offline examination, is yet to publish the results of 139 Divyang students of nine schools.

Taking strong exception to the gross apathy of the Board, the Commission directed it to put the offline improvement examination on hold until further orders.

The BSE had maintained that the results of the eight special schools were not declared as those were not affiliated.

On the other hand, these special schools receive grant-in-aid from Odisha Government’s Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department.
