Bhubaneswar: The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, a nationwide initiative for creating innovation in agriculture, will be launched from Odisha’s Puri district on May 29.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the campaign, which will run across the country from May 29 to June 12, through virtual mode. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Fisheries and Animal Resource Development Minister Gokulananda Mallick will join the programme here.
A meeting was held on Monday at the conference hall of Krushi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Farmer Empowerment and Energy to discuss the preparations for the event.
The Union Agriculture Minister along with other dignitaries will first visit Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and then join the Trirangayatra. The campaign will be launched at Birgobindapur Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Sakhigopal. The Krishi Ratha will also be flagged off. Later, he will join the CIFA programme. Apart from this, he will also join the Mango festival at Central Horticultural Experiment Station, and the OUAT programme. All the programmes will include planting of trees under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, an official release said.
A large number of students, farmers will participate in all these programmes.
