Bhubaneswar: Five exclusive fast-track courts will be set up in Odisha to deal with women-related cases, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed on
“We have initiated discussions with the CJ of Orissa High Court on this proposal to ensure speedy justice in cases of violence and abuse against women,” he said.
Stressing the government’s ‘justice at doorsteps’ policy, the Law Minister mentioned about the recent decisions to establish 40 new JFMC courts and three new Civil Judge Courts (Junior Division) in the state.
“Courts will be set up in all 314 blocks in Odisha. Gramya Nyalaya will come up at places with more cases,” he added.
In another development, the Orissa High Court has transferred 54 judicial officers in the state.
