Bhubaneswar: Odisha Tourism has tied up with online travel and booking site, TripAdvisor to promote the state’s tourist interests for a period of six months.
The travel portal will host a campaign on the microsite https://www.tripadvisor.in/Tourism-g297660-Odisha-Vacations.html showcasing places to visit, travel info, events, and things to do in Odisha. The microsite will have the co-branding by Odisha Tourism.
The state intends to boost tourism during the Hockey Men’s World Cup to be held in Bhubaneswar later this year.
“It’s great to have a global name like TripAdvisor on board to help us get more travellers to Odisha especially in the coming months when the state will be buzzing with activities across all sectors. We are also the host partner of the Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar and are expecting substantial foreign footfall,” said Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Odisha Tourism, Vishal Dev.
“We want to leverage TripAdvisor’s global network and strong understanding of regional travel trade and market nuances, to shape and spur growth in this region. We are going for consumers who value unique travel experiences, and who will travel long haul to understand and enjoy what Odisha has to offer,” he added.
Sarah Mathews, TripAdvisor’s Head of Destination Marketing for Asia Pacific said, “As the world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor and its community inspire people to travel and to discover new places. We are glad to have the opportunity to work with Odisha Tourism to ensure that travellers who consider visiting India will not only visit its popular destinations but go beyond and experience all that Odisha has to offer.”
