Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday apprehended Revenue Inspector (RI) Manoj Kumar Behera and Amin Bichitrananda Satpathy of Kandarpur Revenue Circle in Odisha’s Cuttack district while allegedly accepting Rs 12,000 as bribe.
According to a Vigilance release, they had allegedly demanded illegal gratification from a shop owner near the revenue office at Kandarpur to furnish favourable report in a mutation case for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land and issue an ROR( Patta).
The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from their possession.
Currently, simultaneous searches are underway at 3 places linked to Behera and 2 to Satpathy to ascertain whether they have accumulated assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.
A case has been registered under Section 7 of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway, it added.
