Odisha Vigilance Raids: Assistant Engineer Found In Possession Of 11 Plots In Prime Locations

Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance officials unearthed 11 plots of land in prime areas of different places in the name of an assistant engineer and his relatives during raids on his properties on Tuesday.

Following allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income, 8 teams of Vigilance officials carried out simultaneous searches on the properties of Umesh Kumar Shashini, assistant engineer, Baitarani Irrigation Division, Salapada in Keonjhar district. The raids were conducted in Keonjhar, Bhadraak, Jajpur and Khordha districts.

During house searches so far, the following movable and immovable assets have been unearthed in the name of Shashini and his family members:

- at No.303 at Shyam Enclave, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar worth Rs 35 lakhs
- One single-storey building at Apartibindha, Bhadrak Town
- One single-storey building at native village Betira under Nandipada police limits in Keonjhar district
- Fixed deposits, bank and insurance deposits worth over Rs 39.6 lakhs
- Gold ornaments weighing approximately 521 gm and silver over 2 kg worth over Rs 16.11 lakh
- Two 2-wheelers.
- Cash and household articles worth over Rs 5.6 lakh
- Vigi11 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Anandapur, Keonjhar as per details below:

  ii) Plot No.1540, Khata No.475/72 at mouja Patharapada under Vyasanagar Tahasil, Jajpur district
  iii) Plot No.1545, Khata No.367 at mouja Patharapada under Vyasanagar Tahasil
  iv) Plot No.1541, Khata No.360 at mouja Patharapada under Vyasanagar Tahasil
