Puri: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday apprehended the Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) posted at the office of sub-collector Jituranjan Chhatoi in Odisha’s Puri while allegedly accepting Rs 50,000 bribe.
According to official sources, he was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe amount from the complainant for the conversion of his land to ‘Gharabari’ (homestead) purpose in an Orissa Land Reform (OLR) case.
A case has been registered against him by Bhubaneswar Vigilance under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
Besides, searches are on at two locations from a disproportionate assets angle.
