Bhubaneswar: Odisha girls bagged a silver and a bronze in the Asmita Khelo India Senior Pencak Silat Women’s league held at Srinagar’s Sher Kashmir Indoor Stadium.
An 18-member Odisha team participated in the meet which featured 17 disciplines.
Pencak Silat is an Indonesian martial art whose essence is fighting by many techniques of self-defence. The sport is gaining in popularity, and made its Asian Games debut in 2018. It also featured as an exhibition sport in Olympic Games.
