Bhubaneswar: YouTuber Tapi Mishra, alias Saroj Kumar Mishra, was arrested by the police in Bhubaneswar for allegedly making objectionable remarks on social media.
Sources said the arrest was made by Infocity Police under Bhubaneswar UPD on Wednesday based on a complaint filed by Odia writer Banasmita Pati.
Mishra has been charged under sections 296, 75 (3), 351 (2), and 351 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

It was alleged that Mishra harassed a woman author on Facebook on March 17 after she reportedly criticised his inflammatory remarks. He used abusive language and threats, leading to a police complaint under IT Act Sections 67 and 67A.
After his stint in the Army, Tapi Mishra turned a fitness influencer and Odia film actor. He gained recognition for his hotel business ventures and roles in films like ‘Mahabahu’ and ‘Dil Re Lekhichi Tori Naa’. His YouTube series featuring motivational talks further expanded his digital influence.
The incident sparked widespread condemnation, with netizens and activists demanding stricter accountability for influencers misusing digital platforms.
