Odisha’s Actor Babushaan Hospitalised, ‘Daman’ Director Wishes Him ‘Rocket Recovery’

Bhubaneswar: Director of soon-to-be-released Odia movie ‘Daman’ Vishal Mourya wished Babushaan Mohanty, who is reportedly undergoing treatment for gastrointestinal ailments at a private hospital in Odisha capital for the past few days, a ‘rocket recovery’.

He added that the promotion of Daman, which is set to be released on September 30, was incomplete without him.

Babushaan, who hadn’t worked for the past one-and-a-half years, opted to make a comeback with this film as the ‘subject touched his heart.’ He will be seen essaying the role of a doctor working in the Maoist-hit Malkangiri district of Odisha. The movie is based on a true story.

According to sources, he complained of illness during a recent motorcycle tour in Ladakh for film promotion, following which he was hospitalised.

Some reports suggest that the actor was admitted to the hospital after his oxygen level dropped while others said that he was suffering from varicose veins. His health condition is said to be stable now, sources added.

He had performed Bol Bam Yatra with the entire crew of the film in the Old Town area of Bhubaneswar on the first Monday of Sravan month as a part of the promotion for ‘Daman’.

In July, Babushaan found himself embroiled in a high-voltage fracas after his wife Trupti Satpathy accused him of having an extra-marital affair with his co-actor Prakruti Mishra and confronted them on the streets of Bhubaneswar.
