Odisha’s Berhampur University Hosts National Faculty Training In Community Science
Berhampur: In order to help the college and university teachers in their research activities in community science, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in New Delhi and Berhampur University in Odisha’s Ganjam district launched a one-week faculty development programme on Monday.
The faculty will be imparted training on applied research methodology in community science in the programme which is hosted by the Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AADC) of the university in collaboration with the Department of Home Science and (AIU), New Delhi. Total 43 participants from different parts of the country are participating in the programme.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof Sukanta Kumar Tripathy, Director of the R&D Cell of the university and Prof Abha Mishra, Head of UNDP-Odisha.
Dr Amarendra Pani, Joint Director and Head, Research Division, AIU advised the participants to leverage the benefits of the training programme and improve the quality of research, instead of focusing on getting a certificate.
Prof Aparajita Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, Rama Devi Women’s University (RDWU), Bhubaneswar and Dr Abha Mishra elaborately discussed recent developments in methodological tools for community science research.
Mrutyunjay Swain, AIU-AADC Nodal Officer and programme convenor; Sasmita Behera, Head of the Department of Home Science and Anita Pandey, coordinator of the program and assistant professor of the Home Science Department also spoke.
