Odisha’s Cuttack to Miss Bali Jatra Fervour This Year Also

Cuttack: The annual Bali Jatra at Gadagadia Ghat on the Mahanadi river bank, on the outskirts of Cuttack city, will not be organised this year too.

The Bali Jatra, which celebrates the rich maritime tradition of the state, will suspended last year too in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani informed that the administration has decided not to hold the Jatra this year also as large congregations might further aggravate the COVID situation.

“Despite a decline in COVID infections in the state, the district administration has decided not to allow the Bali Jatra as large congregations are likely to increase COVID spread,” Chayani said.
