Joda/Badabil: Jindal Foundation, the social outreach arm of Jindal Steel, has reinforced its dedication to community welfare by inaugurating a new multi-speciality hospital and consecrating a temple in a single ceremony in Odisha’s Kendujhar district.
On the auspicious day of Hera Panchami, July 20, Chairperson of Jindal Foundation Shallu Jindal formally opened the 25-bedded Jindal Aarogyam Community Hospital and presided over Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav of Deveshwar Mahadev Temple at Deojhar, Badabil. The events were attended by Padma awardee Tulasi Munda, senior company officials, local public representatives, and members of the surrounding communities.
The twin initiatives highlight the Foundation’s holistic approach to development, combining accessible healthcare with spiritual and cultural preservation to improve quality of life for underserved populations, a company release said.
The Jindal Aarogyam Community Hospital features contemporary medical infrastructure and will offer services in General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Paediatrics. Visiting specialists in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Dentistry, Gastroenterology, and Ophthalmology will further strengthen care. The facility includes a modern operation theatre, advanced diagnostic services, and round-the-clock Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) ambulance support.
In keeping with its focus on equity, the hospital will provide free consultations and treatment to underprivileged and socially vulnerable patients, bringing quality healthcare closer to remote tribal and rural households.
The temple, on the other hand, is expected to become a lively centre for worship, festivals, and community gatherings for residents of nearby villages, promoting social harmony and cultural continuity.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shallu Jindal said, “At Jindal Foundation, we believe that true development is achieved when healthcare, education, livelihood and spiritual well-being progress together. Munda praised the Foundation’s consistent work in tribal welfare, particularly in education, healthcare, and inclusive development, and commended its efforts to create opportunities for marginalised sections of society.
