Odisha’s Sambalpur University Assistant Professor Kujur Suspended Again For Misbehaviour

Sambalpur: Odisha’s Sambalpur University has once again suspended Assistant Professor in Political Science and Public Administration Dr Rajat Kumar Kujur for misbehaviour and objectionable posts against the PG Council chairperson on social media.

The Vice Chancellor of the University on Friday issued the suspension notice based on a written complaint by the chairperson of PG Council Prof Sanjukta Dash.

As per the order, Dr Kujur will not be allowed to enter the administrative building or any PG department without prior permission of the university. He will also not be allowed to attend any meeting of the university during the suspension period.

He will receive a subsistence allowance at a rate equal to his leave salary during the period of suspension. However, to get the payment he will have to submit a certificate that he is not engaged in any other employment, business, profession or vocation, the official order stated.

The university had taken action against Dr Kujur several times earlier.

In February this year, Dr Kujur was demoted to Assistant Professor (stage-II) in academic level-11 from his current grade of assistant professor (stage-III, academic level-12) for attacking a student and mentally harassing a female colleague.

In May last year, Kujur was suspended for an alleged dispute with a student in September 2018.

He was suspended again in August as a woman assistant professor accused him of mental harassment.
