Ola Expands Its Footprint In UK

Bengaluru-based ride hailing service Ola has added Warwick and Coventry to its list of cities in United Kingdom (UK). This brings the number of cities covered by Ola in the UK to nine.

“We have learnt a great deal in the last 12 months since the launch and feel immensely proud that our drivers have already provided over one million rides across the UK. Coventry is the home of the black cab and as such we are delighted to be able to boost income opportunities for local drivers. We are leading the way with driver benefits and are the only app in the area to include black cab drivers in our dynamic fleet,” stated Alok Pandya, Ola’s Regional Manager for the West Midlands, Coventry, and Warwick.

Ola has both black cabs and private vehicles on hire. The company has worked with local councils to grant technology and transport licences and are currently the first company to be present at these places.

As part of the launch, new users will get 50 per cent off on all rides for the first two weeks.

Ola also a 24-hour safety emergency in-app support.

The company has invested US$60 million in its international operations in the last 15 months.
