Bhadrak: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Odisha’s Bhadrak on Friday arrested one person in connection with a stone pelting incident on the Howrah-bound 12074 Jan Shatabdi Express.
A complaint was received in the morning via Rail Madad by the Divisional Security Control, Khurda Road, reporting a window glass cracked due to stone pelting on Coach No. D/13 between Randia Boudpur and Bhadrak stations. However, no one was injured in the incident.
Taking swift action, Inspector-in-Charg of RPF Bhadrak, along with his team, launched a track-side search operation in the affected section. One suspect was detained and subsequently arrested in connection with the incident, East Coast Railway (ECoR) said in a press release.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Railway Act. The accused will be produced before the Hon’ble Court of SDJM, Bhadrak for further legal proceedings.
The RPF reiterates its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers and urges the public to report any suspicious activity through Rail Madad or the Railway Helpline Number 139.
